About Rhiannon
As an aspiring architect and designer, I am exploring new ways to approach design. My focus is on merging art and architecture in creative and thought-provoking ways that challenge conventional thinking. I am passionate about art & architectural heritage and how this fits within the context of the modern built environment. Whether working on a new project or simply exploring the world around us, I am always looking for innovative and inspiring ways to create.
A little about me and my passions in the design world.
I have recently graduated with a first class BA (Hons) in Architecture at the University of Portsmouth. While at Portsmouth, I volunteered as Course Representative, enabling me to be an active voice for my peers across the school and to provide feedback to establish positive changes throughout the course. I successfully initiated the Architecture Book Club which promotes each student to borrow a book from the Geoffrey Broadbent Collection of art and architectural history books and to present to their studio group each week about an architect or architectural movement that has inspired them.
My passion for architecture and the built environment is intertwined with my love of art and art history. I think we can learn from how art can make us feel and this can influence how we can design spaces for us to live. Particularly post-pandemic, there has been an increase in the interest in designing harmonious architecture to promote health and wellbeing in the society we live and interact with.
Through prior work experience I attended site visits with building surveyors to historic buildings to support the production of my graphic drawings by measuring up and taking photos of building facades and decorative interiors including stain glass windows and taking paint samples.
